The Lubbock Sketch Club is hosting the Lubbock Comic Book Workshop on August 9th, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lubbock Garden and Arts Center, at 4215 University Avenue.

This all-day event is designed to provide classes and training for comic book professionals and for people who want to become comic book professionals. The cost is $25 per person -- lunch, snacks, and materials will be provided.

Four classes will be taught at the workshop -- digital coloring and lettering; inking; laying out a comic book page; and creating an illustration from concept to finish. Instructors will be Will Terrell and Rachel Simmons. The classes are two hours each, with breaks in between.

Schedule for the Day:
8 a.m. - Instructors and Volunteers Arrive, Set up begins
8:30 a.m. - Hospitality Suite Opens
8:45 a.m. - Breakfast snacks for the early arrivals
9 a.m. -10:45 a.m. - How to create an illustration from concept to finish
11 a.m. -12:45 p.m. - Laying out a comic book page

12:15 p.m. - Lunch Set up in Hospitality Suite
12:45 p.m. -2 p.m. - Lunch
2 p.m. -3:45 p.m. - Digital coloring/lettering
4 p.m. -5:45 p.m. - How to Ink

6 p.m. - Close down begins
