Operation: Flyers
Use the images provided to create flyers. Make a few copies of the flyers and
use them in one or more of the following ways:
- Tie balloons to a flyer and put at important intersections (near Tech, for
example) with shiny ribbons.
- Tape flyers to the inside of your car windows (don't block your view), to
make a moving or parked "billboard"
- Use the smaller flyers and go to a bookstore of your choosing. Simply place
one in any graphic novels, comics, or related books of interest.
- Ask your place of work if you can post up a flyer in window near the customer
entrance.
- Leave a flyer laying out when you visit a public place (your table at the
restaurant or coffee shop for example).

UPDATE: New, updated flyers will be made available on April 16th, so limit your first print run.
Operation: Signature
Add the Expo info to your email signatures, like the one listed below. Just
go to your email options and "edit signature". If you are part of
any message boards, forums or newsgroups, this is also something you can do.

Operation: MyFace
If you use a social networking tool online (Such as Myspace or Facebook) Add
a Lubbock Comic Book Expo related image as your "default" image. Feel
free to create your own variation that fits your style. Send it in and we may
post it up here. We ask that you stay on message and keep it clean.
Operation: Superhighway
Spread word of the event in forums, message board, social networks, blogs, or
open art websites. Post where you think is appropriate, but only places that
you frequent. Otherwise they'll consider it spamming, which would reflect badly
on us. Try to use the wording from the Expo website and flyers.
SPECIAL OPS (Organized events, where volunteers are needed for specific days and times)
Operation: Costumed Superheroes
In these events we will ask our volunteers to wear costumes to pass out flyers
or other advertising materials that will be provided. You must provide your
own costume. Costumes can be a current comic book character (if you can pull
it off) or your own creation (keeping the design kid friendly). The following
activities are in the works:
- Passing out flyers in public places, such as libraries, Tech, coffee houses,
Hastings, Wal-Mart , or parks to hand out materials. Remember to get permission
from private businesses!
- Going as a group to donate blood at United Blood Services, and handing out
info, perhaps a photo op or two for the website or newspapers.
- Carrying big signs at intersections and along major streets, with flyers in
hand for interested folks.
- Going as a group to pick up cans along the highway or along major streets.
